Paper Plate Submarine

Setting Sail on Our Submarine Adventure!

Are you ready to create your very own paper plate submarine? Follow these simple steps to turn a plain paper plate into a deep-sea vessel of your imagination:

Step 1: Prepare Your Work Area

Find a comfortable spot to work on your submarine masterpiece. Make sure you have all your materials within reach and that you’re wearing your creative cap!

Step 2: Fold the Paper Plate

Take your paper plate, fold it in half and draw a line where the fold is. Then add a submarine fin with a vertical rectangle shape

in the middle. This fold will be the body of your submarine.

Step 3: Get Creative with the Shape

Now comes the fun part! With your plate flat, it’s time to start cutting. Leave the outside part of the plate together, but cut the line that will be the top of your submarine, including where the fin will be. It’s best to get a parent to help, and it’s easier to use a Stanley knife than scissors for this part. Suppose you accidentally cut the whole way across. In that case, you can tape the ends together to make the submarine stand up.

Step 4: Decorate Your Submarine

Time to add some personality to your submarine! Use markers, crayons, or coloured pencils to give your sub some colour and character. You can draw portholes, underwater creatures, or special designs. Military submarines are always dark, so they can go unnoticed, but yours can be whatever colour you like.

Step 5: Let’s Dive Deeper!

To make your submarine even more awesome, use stickers, sequins, or any decorations you like to give it that extra “underwater” flair. You can add seaweed, fish, or even a brave sailor peering out of the window!

Step 6: Stand your submarine up

If you only cut from the inside of the plate, your submarine will stand up. If you accidentally cut the plate’s outer part, you can tape it back together to make it stand. This will help your submarine stay together as it explores the imaginary ocean depths.

Step 7: Prepare for Underwater Adventures

With your paper plate submarine complete, you’re now ready for endless underwater adventures! Imagine exploring the deep sea, encountering colourful fish, mysterious creatures, and maybe even discovering hidden treasures.
